On Monday 29th May, Dundalk Credit Union and Dundalk FC officially launched an exciting new partnership which sees Dundalk Credit Union as Women’s Football Patron of the local football club.

The event was attended by Dundalk FC management, coaches and players, Chloe Mustaki (Bristol City and ROI WNT), local footballers Lynn Craven (Bohemians) and Sophie Watters (Shelbourne), Sue Ronan (FIFA), Mick Neville (FAI), representatives from the Louth School Girls League, and Directors, management and staff of Dundalk Credit Union.

Bernadette Farrell, Chairperson of Dundalk Credit Union said “We know that Women’s football is one of the fastest growing sports in the world. Our collaboration with Dundalk FC as Women’s Football Patron is something we are very proud of on behalf of our members, and we are delighted that it will develop the foundations for a vibrant future for Women’s football at Dundalk Football Club. Both organisations are proud to encourage and promote the principles that underpin Women’s football. Inclusion, the power of team, equality and belonging.” She continued “As Community Partner of the Louth School Girls League, we see this collaboration with Dundalk FC as our way of continuing to support talented young players to fulfil their potential as elite footballers by progressing from Schoolgirls League to Senior football with Dundalk FC.”

Frankie Watters, Director, Dundalk Credit Union added “The future of football is female, it is as simple as that. That is where football is going to move forward and after the World Cup this summer, I think we will see that to a much greater extent. ” Billy Doyle, CEO, Dundalk Credit Union said “I think it’s very fitting that as we revitalise and restructure our partnership with Dundalk FC over the coming years that an association with women’s football is a large, and front and centre component of that.” Sue Ronan (FIFA) thanked Dundalk Credit Union for their foresight in supporting both the Louth School Girls League and Dundalk FC Women’s teams.
